Windows 10: Activating Windows 10 Pro...Issues.

Long story short, I purchased a retail license of Windows 8, then upgraded for free to Windows 10 home, and then recently upgraded to Windows 10 pro.


I've built a new computer, deactivated the license on the old system, and am trying to activate windows 10 pro. However I can't activate through my Microsoft account, giving me an error "Oops something went wrong, try again" over and over. I also do not have access to the original product key, nor received the product key from Microsoft for the installation of Windows 10 home and then the upgrade to windows 10 pro.


What do I do?

I need to change my motherboard, have windows 10 pro. When i google how to it says go to activation then add an account, my issue is there is no add an account option under activation? Or am I in the wrong window?



Not sure how to proceed, ive googled it and the same results. Do I have an OEM or? On the disk sleave it says OEI DVD?

As an initial troubleshooting step, we suggest that you run the Activation troubleshooter and try activating Windows 10 Pro again. To run the Activation troubleshooter, follow these steps:

• Click the Start button and select the Settings

• Choose Update & Security from the list.
• Select Activation in the left pane of the window.
