Windows 10: Activating Windows 10 (upgraded Windows 7) on another motherboard

So we have 2 pcs in our household, we took the windows 10 upgrade offer, sadly 10 did not work with my motherboard as its no longer supported with drivers by intell.

So i decided to get an upgrade package (new motherboard, processor and ram) and while i was at it, i got one for my wife too.

Now as i understand it, our "reserved" windows 10's are bound to the old hardware.

Is there any way to unbind it and bind it to the new hardware, or are we forced to stay with 7 for now?

Windows 10 returned to non activated state after motherboard change

Recently, my old motherboard got bricked by corrupted BIOS, so I have to change the entire motherboard and CPU. Prior to the hardware change, I have upgraded my Windows 7 to Windows 10 successfully. Now, there is an overlay showing "Activate your Windows
10" But there is already a valid Windows 10 license embedded. I read from the various community discussion, one possible rectification would to revert back to Windows 7 and then try to download the Windows 10 upgrade again.

But my question would be: Would Microsoft deny my Windows 7 license re-activation because Windows 7 would be looking at another PC using the same Windows 7 license. Because I have upgrade most of the drivers and software to Windows 10 compatible, reverting
to Windows 7 would definitely cause a lot of software problems. Is there another way to resolve the Windows 10 activation issue?

 

Unable to activate windows with genuine Windows 7 key after a mother board failure

I had to put windows 10 hdd into another pc after a motherboard failure ,and it runs fine, but i am unable to activate it even with my genuine windows 7 key? Windows 10 preview 1511 key won`t activate either. Any advice ?

If all fails can i download another windows 10 maybe a different upgrade over the present 1511 and then get it activated?

 

If you have Windows 7 installed and activated on the new motherboards, you can upgrade those to Windows 10.
