Windows 10: Activating Windows 10

I recently reset my pc because of problems with internet connection which has been fixed now after the reset but now my computer can't activate windows. I never had this problem before the reset and I'm really not sure what's going on. In settings in says there is a product key but it "can't activate windows on this device because you don't have a valid digital license or product key" which really confuses me because it was perfectly fine before the reset. I've tried the troubleshooting which just tells me to go to the microsoft store and buy a new one and even if I go to the store it doesn't

I won't buy a key, stupid.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?

If you upgraded to Windows 10 for free and ended up in a non-activated state, try following these steps:
