Windows 10: Activating Windows 11 Pro on a new laptop Digital Licence linked to Microsoft Account

Evening all,Tried to contact Microsoft multiple times over the last few days, requested call backs and I've heard nothing so this is my next option.I have a Digital Licence linked to my Microsoft Account, I was running Windows 11 Pro on my old laptop this is now in bits so I can repair and rebuild it but I won't be re-installing Windows 11.Old laptop Dell Inspire 15 was running Win 11 ProNew laptop ASUS Vivobook S15 came with Win 11 HomeI removed my old laptop from the list of devices on my Microsoft Account and I also tried to deactivate the product key using slmgr /upk. Transferring a retail Windows 11 Pro licence to a new PC

I have an old PC running Windows 11 Pro, "activated with a digital licence linked to your Microsoft account". This is a retail licence purchased from the Microsoft Store.



This old PC is now suffering from various hardware problems, so I have bought a new one. This has been running Windows 11 Home under an OEM licence, also "activated with a digital licence linked to your Microsoft account".

My question is, how do I deactivate the Windows 11 Pro licence on the old PC and activate it on the new PC? I know this is an obvious question, and after some searching I found one answer I thought addressed my particular issue.

I followed the steps set out in Redirecting but now I'm stuck. The troubleshooter on the new PC says "we found a Windows Home digital licence for this device running Windows 11 Pro. To activate using this digital licence, you need to install Windows 11 Home". At the final step, "See other devices linked to your Microsoft account" only shows the old PC, with the Windows 11 Pro licence. I am signed on to the same Microsoft account on both PCs and can see them both in "Devices".

I'm not worried about the licensing on the old PC, as it's going to be recycled anyway.

Licence not linked to Microsoft Account

I got my Mum a new PC to replace her current one as it's been having some hardware issues. I changed her from a local account login to using her outlook.com account and that's fine but it doesn't seem to have linked her licence with her MS account, as when I login with her outlook.com account on the new PC it's not activated. Selecting "Troubleshoot" returns "We weren't able to activate Windows on this devices" and clicking "I recently changed hardware on this device" returns "We can’t find any devices linked to your Microsoft account that can be used to reactivate the device that you’re using at the moment. Make sure that you’re signed in with the same Microsoft account that you linked to the Windows 10 digital licence on this device, or try again later. "

Her old PC was upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10 and it says "Windows is activated with a digital licence linked to your Microsoft Account". At https://account.microsoft.com it shows two devices, her old PC with Windows 10 Pro v1903 and her new one with Windows 10 Pro v1909 and neither say activated but maybe it's not meant to say that there?

So what do I need to do to get Windows on her new PC activated?
