Confused purchased new Windows 10 All in One, first day Blue Screen and "said I had no operating system installed"? Happened twice both time send back to HP

On Activation screen says "Windows is activated with a digital license"

Half ways down screen under key icon "change product key" states

the last product key ID:00326-10000-00000-AA405 you entered can't be used on this copy of Windows. 0x80070426 I didn't enter any product key can someone explain to me what this means???

Also didn't understand with returned order stated "apps being used as programs"????? I don't sync or use programs on my phone except for emails???? Thanks in advance if you can explain or help with fix

When I tried to restore it said do want to go back to Windows 7....Never had windows 7

  2. New motherboard, win10 need activation

    Hi,

Users who run a Microsoft Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) operating system may upgrade or replace most of the hardware components on the computer and still maintain the license for the original Microsoft OEM operating system software provided by the
OEM, with the exception of an upgrade or a replacement of the motherboard.
An upgrade or a replacement of the motherboard is considered to create a new personal computer. Therefore,
Microsoft OEM operating system software cannot be transferred from another computer.
If the motherboard is upgraded or replaced for reasons other than a defect then a new computer is created, and a new operating system license is required.
If the motherboard is replaced because of a defect, the user does not need to acquire a new operating system license for the computer.
The motherboard replacement must be the same make and model, or the same manufacturer’s replacement or equivalent, as defined by that manufacturer’s warranty.

    Why can't I activate Windows?

Try activating by phone. Speak to a Microsoft representative and explain the situation to them.

Windows activation following replacement of PC motherboard

I need to replace the motherboard on my PC. But then Windows would no longer be activated. If I do not purchase another license and continued using the operating system, would I still get updates or the operating system would simply cease to function?

    Activate Windows after Motherboard replacement

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

You don’t need to jump into a conclusion of changing the Motherboard for now. You have the option of updating the BIOS and Motherboard chipset drivers from the OEM website to check if that helps in this situation.

Note: Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot
guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

Apart from buying the full version for Windows 10, you can also install the qualifying Operating system first and then upgrade to Windows 10 for free.

I suggest you to refer to the below article for more reference.

    Activation on Windows 10.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/activation-in-windows-10

Only the Motherboard is being replaced so it is not mandatory to reinstall the operating system. You will have to use fixmbr commands. Once this is done successfully you need not reinstall the operating system.

I hope you find the above information helpful.

    Thank you.
