Windows 10: Activation code retrieval, sticker is blank

Hello, I have a dell inspiron 3521 that i bought back in 2013, Its getting old and a little run down and i was told that i could transfer my serial number over once for a new activation of windows. Trouble with this is, I have the quick start guide that came with my computer still but the activation isn't in it and the sticker on the bottom of my computer that had the serial number itself is now blank.. and its a laminate type so there is no way i can use the smudge trick to get any indents to show... I am registered and i have my activation linked with my account here on microsoft but i don't know if that will be enough. I am building a new computer very soon and could really use the help on figuring out if i can get my key transferred or if i'll have to go buy another copy. i spent over 500 on this laptop so i'm hoping i can retrieve it or get some confirmation i can get things going right by linking my account.

Windows 10 will not activate Error code 0x803F7001


Possibly there can be the problem with Microsoft activation Server, so your Windows 10 is not activated. In this scenario, you need to wait and verify if it is the issue from Microsoft’s side. But if you are getting error code 0x803f7001, you can also try these steps:

1. Open Settings app. Then go to Update and security > Activation screen > Change product.
2. Type your Windows edition product key and click Next.
3. You’ll get We couldn’t activate Windows error message.
4. Retry steps 1-3 then type your 25-characters unique product key.
5. Wait for the process to complete, Windows 10 is activated.

I recently formatted my Laptop and I completely forgot about saving my activation code. The box it came with is in another country so I can't get the activation code. How can I retrieve it?
