Windows 10: Activation context generation error

Hello, I am getting the following message in the event viewer and can no longer open Paintshop Pro. Activation context generation failed error

Activation context generation failed for "C:\Users\dutna\Downloads\Install VALORANT.exe".Error in manifest or policy file "C:\Users\dutna\Downloads\Install VALORANT.exe" on line 0. Invalid Xml syntax.

i have followed every online help thread i can find to do with this so called error. ive downlaoded all the C++ visual programmes ive gone through my registry editor and still i cant get rid of this error, please help

 

Activation context generation failed for MFC80U.DLL in HippoEDIT - sxs


Giveaway of the Day offered a free 32-bit version of HippoEdit, which is supposed to work on Win 10 64-bit machines.

I installed (and also uninstalled and reinstalled), but each time I use it, the Event Viewer generates this error message many times:

Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files (x86)\HippoEDIT\MFC80U.DLL". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",ver sion="8.0.50608.0" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.

For what it's worth, there's a very small file in C:\Program Files (x86)\HippoEDIT\ called Microsoft.VC80.MFC.manifest. However a search in c:\ for Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC finds nothing.

Context Menu - Open With (Windows Suggested List)

OS: Windows 10 Pro x64 22H2 Diagram 'A' shows Windows' suggested programs Diagram 'B' shows the extended list I have been trying to edit the context menu's "Open with" list of Windows' suggested programs for the .mp3 extension. I'm not talking about the extended list, but rather the programs that first appear 'before' the "choose another app" option. If you look at Diagram 'A' you will see the preliminary list generated by Windows, this is the list I am looking to modify. I have an .mp3 editor named Goldwave that I use for editing audio files, however, I do not want to change the preliminary program Windows uses to open .mp3s. My .mp3s should remain assigned to Winamp Player. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
