Windows 10: "Activation context generation failed" for file i didn't even run

Running Windows 7 I know, I know... and I'm getting that error come up whenever I open a folder that contains a particular installer file. Mind you, I am not RUNNING the file, or even clicking on it. Activation context generation failed for "C:\Users\dutna\Downloads\Install VALORANT.exe".Error in manifest or policy file "C:\Users\dutna\Downloads\Install VALORANT.exe" on line 0. Invalid Xml syntax.

i have followed every online help thread i can find to do with this so called error. ive downlaoded all the C++ visual programmes ive gone through my registry editor and still i cant get rid of this error, please help

Giveaway of the Day offered a free 32-bit version of HippoEdit, which is supposed to work on Win 10 64-bit machines.

I installed (and also uninstalled and reinstalled), but each time I use it, the Event Viewer generates this error message many times:

Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files (x86)\HippoEDIT\MFC80U.DLL". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",ver sion="8.0.50608.0" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.

For what it's worth, there's a very small file in C:\Program Files (x86)\HippoEDIT\ called Microsoft.VC80.MFC.manifest. However a search in c:\ for Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC finds nothing.

Notification didn´t appear

Windows 10 has ben released for 1 day and a half,and I didn´t get the notification for installing.I reserved it.Can anyone help me?

PS I am running Windows 7 and it´s up to date.
