    Activation context generation failed for MFC80U.DLL in HippoEDIT - sxs


    Giveaway of the Day offered a free 32-bit version of HippoEdit, which is supposed to work on Win 10 64-bit machines.

    I installed (and also uninstalled and reinstalled), but each time I use it, the Event Viewer generates this error message many times:

    Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files (x86)\HippoEDIT\MFC80U.DLL". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",ver sion="8.0.50608.0" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.

    For what it's worth, there's a very small file in C:\Program Files (x86)\HippoEDIT\ called Microsoft.VC80.MFC.manifest. However a search in c:\ for Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC finds nothing.

    Hi guys, my Gigabyte OC Guru keep generating alot of these errors

    it should be said that i have while this errors has been happening reinstalled my Windows 10 2 times, and lately ive tried to reinstall my Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2008, and it still keeps generating this error, ive also tried reinstalling OC
    Guru again, earlier also in different versions.

    This is what the sxstrace turned up, i only used it shortly where i closed the application and started it again to make it generate the error.

    it doesnt really show alot during normal day use, but when i install the software it locks up for a few mins and then goes on, i know its not really an error that ruins much, but its annoying to see generating so much Activation context generation failed for MFC80U.DLL in HippoEDIT - sxs :) so i would love to get it solved,
    but i havent been able to find any real solutions yet Activation context generation failed for MFC80U.DLL in HippoEDIT - sxs :)
