Windows 10: Activation Error 0xC004F069 on Windows 8.1 using OEM/BIOS Licence key on Thinkpad T550

I have a Thinkpad T550 which was bought from a refurbished seller. It was previously owned by a US University and it came with Ubuntu preinstalled on it. Due to my needs, I want to install Windows 10 on it and remove Ubuntu completely.On the bottom of the laptop, there is a ''Windows 8 Pro'' sticker and after checking the UEFI/BIOS screen, I found out that it has indeed a preinstalled Windows License. Now instead of buying a new Windows 10 Pro for $199, I would like to force Windows activation with the OEM UEFI/BIOS license key. So in order to have WIN10 installed, this is what I planned to do

Two OEM licence keys (different Windows versions) on one PC

Hello,
I'm in the process of building another PC and I want to know if it's possible for two versions of Windows to reside next to each other legitimately. I would have windows 7 and 10 as a dual-boot system. So if I buy OEM keys and activate them would one de-activate the other? I know that OEM licence keys are bound to the mobo and are irrevocable. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

There is no difference between the OEM disc and the Retail disc with Windows 7. A retail disc will accept a OEM or Retail key, and vise versa.

If the OEM Key wasn't going to work with the disc you have, it would have stopped you during the install when it first asked you for the key, not during activation.

What is likely the problem is that, since the OEM version has already been activated once, it is failing activation again. Activate it over the phone using the option given to you on the failed activation screen, and you shouldn't have a problem activating it.
