    Activation help, Error code: 0xC004C003


    So, I reserved my free Windows 10. When it was July 29th, I got the Media Creation Tool and burned an iso. I didn't upgrade, I went straight to a clean install. Will I be activated automatically soon? Or do I have to upgrade? When I upgrade to Windows 10, at the second reboot, it doesn't reboot at all. I turn it on and it reverts back to Windows 7. Will I get activated?

    Product Key

    Error code 0xC004C003 means "The activation server determined the specified product key is in use."

    No, you will not get activated.

    You must do an upgrade first, then you can do a clean install. Painful and silly I know but that's how MS knows you have a qualifying OS.

    You will have to reinstall or restore your Windows 7, do the upgrade then clean install.

    Revert to Win 7, Upgrade, then you can clean install if you still want to.
