Windows 10: Activation issues after reset

I hard reset my computer while it was frozen and I was gaming. It wouldn't restart, so I eventually used the reset windows utility to reset windows but keep my files. It signs in now, but it is saying I need to activate windows. I try and run the commands in the CMD prompt but it is telling me access is denied. I can open files if I run do it as an admin, but it wont let me do that for applications. I think this same lockout is what is causing the troubleshooters to not run. This is an older laptop that I bought from BestBuy maybe 6 or so years ago so I don't have the activation key anymore.

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
