Windows 10: Activation Key Access For Stolen OEM PC

I bought a new, customized Win 11 OS system from an OEM manufacturerwho shipped the system 2 weeks ago. This was a high value PC valued at $4000 which I needed for school/etc. The video card was dead on arrival. So I used the repair/maintenance contract with the OEM, to ship back the system the following day. Within 24 hours of my new system being transported to the largest UPS ground hub in IL, my PC suddenly decided to grow legs and go for an indefinite walk. Per UPS Customer Service, the stolen hardware was manually scanned when it was first unloaded from the truck shortly before acquirng

oem activation key

I have a window 10 os oem version. I want to do a fresh reinstall on my computer. Can I use the same activation key ( i used in the first place to get my pc up and running) if it has been used before.

Note: I will use the same cd and the key

There is no difference between the OEM disc and the Retail disc with Windows 7. A retail disc will accept a OEM or Retail key, and vise versa.

If the OEM Key wasn't going to work with the disc you have, it would have stopped you during the install when it first asked you for the key, not during activation.

What is likely the problem is that, since the OEM version has already been activated once, it is failing activation again. Activate it over the phone using the option given to you on the failed activation screen, and you shouldn't have a problem activating it.

 

Deregister Windows 10 on stolen PC?

Thanks for the additional suggestions. I did chat with a Microsoft rep today, and they advised me to activate the product key on my new PC which will deactivate the license on the stolen one. I asked if they could deactivate the stolen key right now, but they said they cannot.
