    Activation Key...I didn't know I needed to have it on hand


    So, about a year ago I went to a Staples store to have the laptop that I am currently using to have it cleaned up. Basically, had them install a new hard drive and everything updated. They also updated the windows, and at the time I didn't think much of. Also I hardly use this laptop, just for emergency as a backup. So a year has pass and now I see the watermark of 'Activate Windows' when I assumed it already had been activated. It's running a Windows 10 pro and is asking for an activation key that I do not have at hand and I think will be impossible for me to reach the retail store to ask for an activation key.


    Can this issue be resolved without the Key Product or will I have to purchase Windows 10? And if I do, can it just be Windows 10 Home instead of Pro?

    Notification didn´t appear

    Windows 10 has ben released for 1 day and a half,and I didn´t get the notification for installing.I reserved it.Can anyone help me?

    PS I am running Windows 7 and it´s up to date.

    Important W10 activation key questions left unanswered by Microsoft

    Not only that, you can check your M$ account and see what devices are listed there, so you know if you can do a clean install or not. Do the upgrade, get it activated, verify that it is listed in your account, then feel free to do a fresh install without activation issues ever.
