Windows 10: Activation problem - PC upgrade

Hi all,


After 12 year absence of using Windows I decided to change one of Linux machines to Windows 10 and purchased a online key direct from Microsoft. Finding that the Ryzen 3 1300X PC wasn't powerful enough for my photography needs I change over the SSD hard drive with the Windows 10 to my Ryzen 5 2600X PC which also has a different motherboard and in hindsight I should of loaded Windows to in the first place.


Now the activation will not work causing 0xC004F211 activation error due to change in hardware. I called the support phone number via the 'Get Help' app and was asked to update Windows with the latest drivers but this has now produce a new error code: 0x803F7001. I called back and given a code to give to Microsoft technical support in the United States. Three times I have tried to call technical support and on all occasions the telephone has lost connection before being able to conclude the issue.


Online, Microsoft say the product key is with confirmation email I received after purchasing Windows 10 but there is nothing listed on the email or anywhere my Microsoft account.


Does anyone have any idea how I get around this problem or have I got to shell out another £120 for a new key?

Video card or RAM need upgrading?

Memtest: no errors after 10 hrs.
I'm going to perform the Primetest, later on. Get back to you on that.
I'm going to take it step by step, guys. I need to find the problem with this current computer. I might have to upgrade some components, so that it is still runnable. As for the new one, yes....i will build on it later. I need to find something decent 'gaming experience', all suggestions appreciated. THanks.

 

activation problem

Hi,

I suggest you to go through Phone activation to activate your Windows 10 copy.

To run Phone activation please follow the steps below:

• 
  Press Windows + R key.
  
• 
  Type slui 4 and hit enter.
  
• 
  Select the Country or
  Region.
  
• 
  Follow the on screen instructions.

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.
