Windows 10: activation trouble

I purchased my system secondhand, with Windows 10 preinstalled.Unfortunately, the hard drive died on me. I had purchased a support plan, and they replaced the HD and reinstalled Windows, but did NOT activate it. When I contacted them, they replied that that is not part of the service.This system apparently shipped with Windows 8 when new, and had since been updated to 10. Thanks to a Dell rep, I was able to find the original activation code, but of course that won't work on Windows 10.VRX7N-CX3MY-RF9K6-64M78-RX7Q2I am hoping I can get a code that will work for me on that basis.Jeff

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

Trouble saving voicemail number

To access my voicemail it is my phone number, a pause and 4 digit pin.



I did the following steps:

• Turned off default voicemail number
• Added a , (for pause) at end of my phone number
• Added the 4 digit pin

I get the following error message We're having trouble saving your voicemail number right now. Try again later.



Any suggestions on how to correct this?
