Windows 10: Active windows 11 OEM error on PC dell

Hi all,Windows 11 OEM activation error on PC DellI have error activating Windows 11 OEM available on dell pc.The error I encountered is as shown in the attached image.How do I know which device the license is using?How to deactivate license on other devices, to use on this device.Sorry my English is poor

I got a problem too when activating win 7 home premium oem. The error code 0x80072ee2 and message "The operation timed out" ??

There is no difference between the OEM disc and the Retail disc with Windows 7. A retail disc will accept a OEM or Retail key, and vise versa.

If the OEM Key wasn't going to work with the disc you have, it would have stopped you during the install when it first asked you for the key, not during activation.

What is likely the problem is that, since the OEM version has already been activated once, it is failing activation again. Activate it over the phone using the option given to you on the failed activation screen, and you shouldn't have a problem activating it.

 

Dell PC Activation question

I think the technical glitch was in Setup reading the OEM key from the bios. The 'Microsoft servers' comment from the Dell technician is a red herring, Setup should be able to find and use an embedded key whether or not you are connected to the internet when you did the clean install. That's Step 6 in the tutorial...

But sometimes it doesn't see the embedded key, or so I have seen reported....

I don't clean install anywhere near as often as you do, but I do have two Dell's with embedded keys, one for W8.1 Home, the other W10 Pro. I have clean installed on both, and both found and used the OEM key. This is the one that has a W10 Pro key.





The one with a W8.1 Home key is a bit of a pain really, I subsequently purchased W10 Pro for it, but if I were to do another clean install it would automatically install Home, which I would then have to upgrade to pro with the generic Pro key.
