Windows 10: AD user password change on next logon not working properly

I have Domain controller around 1200 user. Problem is while I reseting a user password and checked the Password change on next log on checkbox it should come with option to change the password on next log on. But I didn't get any option like that while login to the workstation and can not login with the new password. It takes old password to log in. Moreover if while reseting password if I checked the password change on next log on option and also checked unlock this account option then I can login with the new password but still the password change option is not coming up.

I want to force Windows 10 Pro user to change his password at next logon. I wanted to do it using Computer Management -> Local Users and Groups -> Users. I clicked on user and opened Properties dialog, then I click on 'User must change password at next logon'
and OK. I tried it several times, but without success. User can still login with his old password and he is not asked to change password at logon. How can I force user to change his password at next logon?

Mentioned user account is linked with Microsoft account. Could this be reason why it does not work? If yes, is there a way how to to do it for Microsoft account?

unable to remove windows logon password

went to control panel user accounts and there is no longer a ' remove password ' option as with windows 7

i changed the settings to ' not require a password on logon' but made no difference at all

it now boots saying password wrong, until I enter a password then all ok...

MS suggest adding a new account and logging in with that without a password then deleting the old one.....

does not not work as the add account is greyed out.

cant see why this is so difficult..

as as a side issue since trying to remove the windows logon password I am now presented on boot up with an OS choice wi cows 10 or 7.... I am certain this wasn't there before..

any my help would be appreciated

• Confirm which build is currently installed on your device. To check, follow the steps below:

1. Press Windows key + R, then type in winver.
2. Click OK.

• Have you tried disabling the User must change password at next logon for your OEM administrator account? If not, refer to the steps below:

1. Press Windows key + R, then type lusrmgr.msc and press
   Enter.
2. Click on Users, right-click on your OEM administrator account and select
   Properties.
3. Uncheck the box for User must change password at next logon. Click on
   Apply and OK to save changes.

• It would be best if you can also send me a screenshot of the said issue.
