    Adapter switchinng from ipv4

HP 15-f233wm, with Realtek RTL8188EE, can connect to internet, then it disconnects, reconnect trying to identify network, can look in property and its connected to IPv6.
WTH the can be done to stop that, bad enough cant browse with the update KB4048955.

    :)

  2. Win10: Hotspot makes LAN connection drop

    Never mind, I got it!

Looking at "ipconfig /all" showed that the hotspot's adapter preferred IPv6, while the Ethernet adapter preferred IPv4. Using "ipconfig /registerdns", the hotspot's adapter changed to IPv4, which fixed it!

EDIT for future confused users: Open CMD to enter these commands.

  6. Did you reboot?

Sorry may I ask why you want to shut off IPv6?

Guess this answer my other questions is Network working? Is it using IPv6.

Rebooted, even reset, done the netsh winsock reset, rebooted, then netsh int ip reset, rebooted, ipconfig/release,, ipconfig/renew,, ipconfig/flushdns,, worked fine a few hours then back to connecting, disconnecting, verifying no iinternet access, look back in property and its on IPv6 again.

No access on IPv6. IPv4, can browse web, log on here. IPv6 nope, can no do. just shows in task bar verifying network, no internet access with yellow triangle.

Who is using it, no web pages are.

  10. If turning off IPv6 disables your IPv4 that doesn't sound right. With IPv6 on I think you said you can use the Internet, correct?

IPv6 comes up Verifying Network, No Internet Access..
I was talking to a lady last night that works at a computer place, she said go in and change setting on everything that can be set to performance, change it to performance. that disables the energy saver.
So far everything has speeded up, hasn't disconnected and switch over.

  12. One other thing you can check along these lines. Right click adapter in Device manager, then properties, then power mgmt tab.

Remove check mark on allow computer to shutoff device to save power.

    Done that..
Doing the power option, advance power option, setting everything to performance, where it was on balance, so far connected to IPv4 and staying there, and everything is speeding up.

,I have been having the same problem and I went to device Mgr. and unchecked "allow computer to turn off device to save power" on both Realtek network adapters yesterday. No change! I lost my connection twice already today. I am wondering if my Bitdefender security could be turning Wi-Fi off? Also, some of the time when I go to "Settings" and try to restart the Wi-Fi button is turned off. What is doing this?............ P.S. That is all I have done so far.
