    Adaptive brightness control

How do I turn off the adaptive brightness control? I have a Lenovo C740 with windows 10, I've looked for any setting anywhere turn turn off this function, but it just isn't there. I know it changes the brightness whenever because I can watch the screen get brighter or dimmer anytime and it's really annoying. I've looked in all my display settings, and nothing says anything about the adaptive brightness feature. I've looked in my control panel at my screen settings, and I still can't find anything to turn off the feature. I've even disabled then re-enabled my Intel graphics driver, but that didn't help. Online, everyone says its a checkbox in the display settings, but there just isn't one in my settings.

    :)

  2. Brightness control not working

    Hi,

My name is Angel. I am an Independent Advisor. Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I would suggest you to follow these steps:

    1. Go into "Control Panel" and then "Power Options".

    2. Click the "Change plan settings" link next to which ever plan you are currently using and then click "Change advance power settings".

    3. In this new window click "Display" to open up the listings under it.

    4. Now locate and click each of the following..."Display brightness", "Dimmed display brightness" and"Enable adaptive brightness".

    5. Change each of these to the settings you wish, then click the "Apply" button and finally the "OK" button.

    6. You should be good.

Hope the information provided is useful. If the issue persists, reply here and we will be glad to help you.

    Angel.

Brightness Control not working in Windows 10

    Hi Ella,

To adjust the brightness, see the steps below:

    • Go back to Power Options, and tick on the High performance.
    • See if you can adjust the brightness.

If this not work, we highly suggest that you create an Administrator account, and re-do the steps above.

Let us know how it goes.

  4. Adaptive brightness control

Brightness keeps changing automatically. Adaptive brightness option is not there in the display options

My display brightness keeps changing every time i switch between different apps. I've been having this issue for a long time.

I'm using HP Omen Laptop. Windows 10.

I saw another thread with the same issue but was unable to reply in it.

I followed the steps that said the following:

*As an initial recommendation, I suggest you to follow the below steps to disable the adaptive or auto brightness for the selected power plan (if you already have a Power Plan created in Windows)

    • Open Control Panel and click on Power Options.
    • Open your active power plan, you’ll see Change plan settings option. Click Change plan settings next to your current power plan to open Edit Plan Settings window.
    • Click Change advanced power settings option. This will open Power Options dialog.
    • Expand Display and then expand Enable adaptive brightness. Change it to Off*

But the problem i the option "Enable adaptive brightness" is not even there.
