Windows 10: Add Printer Dialog Flashes and then Disappears -- Solution

I usually use USB to print directly as my PC does not have wifi.Recently, I added a USB wifi device and tried to connect to our printer via wifi. I had the problem that many other users seem to have where the printer dialog box quickly displays and then disappears so I could not add a printer. I am new to posting here but noticed that most of these threads are closed but had no solution. Here is how I solved the issue, maybe it might help someone else:In services, I had disabled many of the wifi features previously as I had no need to run them. How to change the default preference in system printer dialog?

To change the default printer preference in the system printer dialog, follow these steps:

1. Click on the Start button and then click on the Settings icon (it looks like a gear).
   
2. In the Settings window, click on "Devices."
   
3. In the Devices window, click on "Printers & scanners."
   
4. In the Printers & scanners window, you will see a list of all the printers that are currently connected to your computer.
   
5. Click on the printer that you want to set as the default printer.
   
6. Click on the "Manage" button and then click on "Set as default." Download Best File Manager EsFileExplorer
   
7. Close the Settings window and your new default printer preference will be set.
