  1. Add Start Menu apps to desktop folders

New computer, first time using Windows 11 Pro. I want to know how to add apps from the Start Menu to folders on the desktop. Example: I've downloaded several games and photo editing programs. I don't want to scroll through all apps in the Start Menu to find them. I want to click on a desktop folder and find the program I'm looking for. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

    :)

  2. Displaying Folder structure in the start menu All Apps

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

To make sure I understand correctly, are you referring to expanding a folder in the start menu to view the extended folders?

If so, I would suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps:

    1. After clicking "app apps", locate the folder from the list.

    2. Check if you see a small arrow like icon pointing downward near the folder.

    3. If so, click on it. This will expand all the folders and items included in that particular folder.

Let us know if this helps.

We will be glad to help if you need further assistance.

  3. Problem pinning apps to the start menu

Not sure if this will help.

To add an item to the Start list, simply drag it into the Start list area. You can do this from within the Start menu of course, but you can also drag an item from the desktop or a File Explorer window: Just drag it onto the Start button first, and after the Start menu has opened you can drag it from there into the Start list.

What can you add to the Start list? Virtually anything. Documents and other files. Any folder. Desktop application, Modern app, or web app shortcuts.

You can also reorder the items in the Start list using drag-and-drop.
