    Installation of a modem driver

    Hi Jean,

    This might be caused by a driver issue. WDF violation error indicates that Kernel-Mode Driver Framework (KMDF) detected that Windows found an error in a framework-based driver. Since it is working on another laptop, try updating the network
    adapter driver of the second computer before installing the modem and see if it helps. Follow the steps below to update driver:

    • Open Device Manager.
    • Look for Network adapters and click it to expand.
    • Select the driver then right-click on it and select Properties.
    • Under Driver tab, click the Update Driver
      button to update the driver.

    Error 633: The modem or connecting device is already in use or is not configured properly

    Hello,

    This error message usually appears when you are connecting to the Internet using a dial-up modem. Also,

    this error may occur if the communication (COM) port used by the modem has been reserved by another software program, or if multiple Internet connections have been set up. As an initial troubleshooting step, you can uninstall and reinstall the modem driver.
    Check out the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + R on your keyboard.
    • On the run command box, type devmgmt.msc, and then hit Enter.
    • Expand Modems driver. (If Modems is not available from the list, check the Modem driver on Network Adapter driver.)
    • Right-click on the modem name and then click Uninstall.
    • Click OK.
    • Restart your computer. The Modem driver will automatically reinstall after the restart.

    ZTE MODEM is not working on Creators update.

    Hi,

    Your modem's driver may not be compatible with the Windows 10 Creators Update, thus the error message you're receiving. Here are our suggestions for fixing the issue:

    1) Update the modem driver through Device Manager.

    • Press your Windows key and type Device Manager.
    • Right-click on it then look for the driver related to your ZTE
      modem.
    • Once located, click on the drop down button and choose Update driver.

    2) Contact the modem's manufacturer.


    • Since this issue also deals with a third-party product, contacting the support team of your manufacturer would also be a good step to take.
