Windows 10: Adding additional keyboard

Trying to add a Russian keyboard to my PC.

Have done the bog standard basics but the PC asks me to input a PIN and I don't have a PIN. Googled this and advice was to try 0000 or 1234. No luck. It is saying it does not recognise the device. Any ideas? Thanks

additional (half-visible) keyboard layout keeps adding (winows 10)

Hi,
every time I press win+L, or resume from sleep mode (I guess reboot and hibernate modes are not affected) I'm getting and additional keyboard layout which is not visible in language switcher (till some moment).







In my case it's Ukrainian (enhanced), my brother has a pc on his job and for him it's some kind of Russian layout.
This additional keyboard at first is visible only on lock screen, so to remove it I have to add it via "Language preferences" and then remove it. And this helps until I press win+L ...







Can anybody tell me why does exactly this layout keeps adding all the time?

I guess it's related to the locale which has been selected during installation, cause I tried to change it to Spanish for example but Ukrainian Enhanced keeps adding despite locale change (also spanish is added too)

 

Additional keyboard (input method) automatically added -- can't be removed!

I think this could be the solution. I can't verify right now because it is still possible the keyboard to appear again later, but after following the steps from the video, I signed off, then logged back in and there is no UK keyboard (I don't confirm this
has brought it in the past).

But in case it did not work and the keyboard appears again later, here are some new observations I have made:

1. The "English UK" keyboard does not appear in the "language preferences" in the settings (as on most videos)
2. Even using the powershell command to list the languages, there is no UK keyboard (even when I can confirm it's on my
   Shift + Alt loop)
3. In "Time & Language > Language > Administrative language settings > Copy settings" everything is set to "US," except the "location" or "language" (can't remember which) for "New users" was set to "UK."
4. Keyboards never (probably; never waited that much to see, but the progress bar didn't move for around 2 minutes) finish "Installing" when being added and despite that, I am able to access their options and delete them.

The updated Windows 10 may have detected your language, the reason why it automatically gave you the other Thai US keyboard. To correct this issue, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Click on the Start Menu, type in region and language settings and select it.
• Under Languages, select Thai Kedmanee keyboard and click Remove.
• Lastly, add it back by clicking Add a language.

After these steps, your keyboard layout will permanently stay with Thai Kedmanee keyboard.
