    Adding an IDE Drive Via adapter


    Folks,I did a reset on my windows 10 laptop last week. I lost Microsoft Money. I have an older laptop that had MS Money on it. I pulled the Hard drive and bought an adapter to hook it to a USB port. When I do that it does comes up as a device. XT-U33502 shows up in the control panel, hardware and sound, devices and printers. I can see it there. I can do a "Properties" on it. I can click on it and when I try to open it the port is greyed out. So, any suggestions to get the drive to open so I can see the contents?

    X58 and IDE CD-ROM drives.

    Any IDE port should work but I would suggest getting a SATA optical drive regardless.
