Windows 10: Adding new users to Windows

I have a new to me desktop that was running Windows 10. I have tried to add additional users but the Settings option refused to let me and said I had to use Control Panel. I tried that but it just sent me back to Settings which told me I had to use Control Panel............. I have now upgraded to Windows 11 in the hope that the problem would go away but it is still the same. What can I do, please?

  Type settings on the Windows search bar and select
  Settings.

  Click on Accounts, and click on
  Family & other users on the left pane.

  Now you can add new user account.

windows 10 - Microsoft Store & Adding new user

Hi,

Creating or adding new user account is one possible troubleshooting step that you can perform whenever you are encountering problems with Windows Store. Through this, we can identify if there are corrupted files in the current user that causes problem with
Windows Store. If you are having problem adding account through Account settings, let us try these steps instead:

• Open Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type this net localgroup administrator test /add and hit
  Enter.

Can't sign in to the new added User Account in Windows 10

Hello Mustafa,

As a solution, we suggest that you try the methods below.

Method 1: Start your PC in safe mode and enable the built-in administrator. For steps on how to start your PC in safe mode, click
here.

For steps on how to enable the Built-in administrator, see below:

• Press the Windows key + X and then select Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type the following command and hit Enter:
• net user administrator /active: yes
• Log out of the current user account then try to log in to the enabled administrator account.

Note: Please follow the same steps mentioned above and type net user administrator /active: no to disable admin account after the troubleshooting is done.



Method 2: Check the status of User Profile Services.

Here are the steps:

• Press Windows key + R to open Run.
• Type services.msc, and then press Enter.
• Locate User Profile Service
• Right-click on it, and then Start the service.
• Set the Startup type to Automatic.
• Try to log back in.
