Adding/Saving Web login credentials to a public desktop shortcut

The login screen comes in two parts: first, web portal asks for a username or email address, user clicks next, then the user is prompted to enter a password.I know how to create a public desktop shortcut - that was the easy part. But I'm not sure how to save the login credentials so that any end user who's using the workstation can imm

  2. Adding shortcut to desktop from web page

    Hi,

Please let us know, which browser are you using to do so?

Follow the steps below to create shortcuts of websites on the Desktop:

    • When you are viewing a website, right click on the web page and select the Create Shortcut option. The shortcut will be placed on the Desktop.
    • You can also right click the Desktop and select New/Shortcut. In the Location Box, paste the URL to the website.
    • Click Next and Name the shortcut and Click Finish.
    • You can also drag the Icon at the left end of the Address Bar and drop it on the Desktop, when viewing a website to create a shortcut.
Hope this information was helpful and do let us know if you need further assistance. We will be glad to assist.

Adding/Saving Web login credentials to a public desktop shortcut

Remote Desktop won't accept login credentials

    Hi Robert,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forum.

    • Are you using a Microsoft account to login?
    • Was the user name changed at any point of time?

Meanwhile, you may try the steps listed below and check if it works:

    • Open Command prompt as an administrator on your local machine and type:
      gpedit.msc
    • Navigate to the following location:

      Local Computer Policy\Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Credentials Delegation
    • Click on ‘Allow Delegating Saved Credentials with NTLM-only Server Authentication’
    • Enable the policy and click on ‘Show’ button in the options window below and enter the value
‘TERMSRV/*’ (without quotes) into the list. Apply the changes.
    • Do the same thing for the following policies:

      Allow Delegating Saved Credentials

Allow Delegating Default Credentials with NTLM-only Server Authentication

      Allow Delegating Default Credentials
    • Make sure that ‘Deny Delegating Saved Credentials’ is not enabled or does not contain ‘TERMSRV/*’ in the list
    • Close all windows, open a command prompt, and use
      ‘gpupdate /force’
command to apply the policy directly.

Once the update is complete, reboot the machine and see if you can remote login.
