Windows 10: Adding speakers to laptop via USB

I wish to ADD a set of speakers via USB to my laptop to increase sound level however thru "settings" it only allows me to choose laptop speakers OR added speakers, it wont let me run both at the same time so my question is how do I run both sets of speakers at once? Thank you

Adding external speakers


Depending on the built in sound device on the MB. Some support 2.1/5.1/7.1 and also optical audio out. Just plug in the cable that comes with the speaker to it then switch the sound output for the speaker.

1. Sound input to speakers
2. Some high end speakers support digital sound then you would use an optical cable.
3. Sound input to TV using HDMI cable

 

USB only speakers!

Win 10 not recognizing my USB only speakers (NOT on list of Playback devices); I have a universal 3.5mm port that outputs audio just fine (headphones), I get video & audio output via HDMI port as primary, only laptop speakers play when primary HDMI not
used, do I have to have USB + 3.5mm speakers and USB only speakers won't work?

 

USB speakers no longer work on laptop

I have the latest updates installed with win 10.

No significant changes. No troubleshooting steps taken and no error message in device manager because win 10 doesn't recognize them. I used these speakers before and they worked fine. Apparently with the updates they are no longer recognized. They are
Samsung USB speakers.
