Windows 10: Address bar in file explorer not showing full file path

Hi, I just transitioned from Windows 10 to Windows 11, and it appears that my file explorer view has drastically changed. In particular, I don't like that the new update for Windows 11 doesn't show the full file path in the address bar see attached photo at the top. I've already tried to go to file explorer options, under "view", and click "display the full path in the title bar" and apply those changes, but nothing happens to resolve this issue. Can anyone assist me in this? I can show you what else I've checked for file explorer customizations that might affect it, but I'm lost at this poi

You can change the Windows 11 File Explorer address bar to show the full file path by following these steps:

1. Open File Explorer.
   
2. Click on the three-dot menu icon located at the top right of the window.
   
3. Click on 'Options'.
   
4. In the 'Folder Options' window that appears, go to the 'View' tab.
   
5. In the 'Advanced settings' list, find and check the 'Display the full path in the title bar' option.
   
6. Click 'Apply', then 'OK'.

How to make file explorer show full path on address bar?

That WindowsClub article is incorrectly titled. The procedure it describes is for displaying the full address in the title bar not the address bar. If I need the full path then I just click in a blank area of the address bar then it appears [ready-selected] so I can copy it.

I tried the Show Full Path in the Address Bar for Special Folders - Winhelponline procedure [post #18 above] but have found it to be incomplete. I had to search through all that set of Registry Keys to find that there were two relevant ones for Downloads. Local Downloads - as shown in their .reg file and Downloads - not mentioned by WinHelpOnline and I had to change both to get the full path to appear in the File explorer, Quick access Address bar for my Desktop/Downloads entry. See the discussion at tutorial suggestions #606 and the next few posts - TenForums As Brink points out, the change does not affect all methods of getting to, for example, the Desktop.
