Windows 10: Admin access

Is there any documentation for Windows 10 that would include the procedures ways and means to actually Administer the Windows 10 Operating System rather then a fiction writing.


Through-out the plethora of links and links and locations and locations where the word Administer is shown to exist. I assume there are procedures.


As a example. This specific example only goes to show that there does exist ways and means within the Operating System to work with Administration.

With this example and the endless writing of example together with the use of the word procedure. There could be Documentation of procedures that write in a non fiction sense the procedure of Windows 10 Operating System Administration. But where is the non fiction written procedures to Administration for Windows 10 Operating System.


While trying to install a device driver for a Ben Q monitor.


Inside of File Explorer / Downloads / device driver


highlighting the device driver string with the curser and then clicking on the icon with the check box of which is located in the area of the top left hand side of File Explorer window.


Clicking on the icon with the check box displays another window and in its menu at the top with word of Security displays the word Administrators.


It all boils down to the endless clock time together with stress and frustration while trying to enact what could be a basic straight forward action.


If any body knows where there is written non fiction Documentation for the procedures of Administration in the Windows 10 Operating System. Please let me know.

You can reset the Admin Password using Windows XP repair; See Here for step by step.

Cannot access shared network drive


Personally, I wouldnt use Everyone. If anyone hacks into you, they have full access to everything and can demolish everything on your raid. I would rather set up accounts and access separately for each person. That way, I know who did all that damage. In the end with a little extra work, I feel more secure by using Authenticated Users.

step 1 create non-microsoft account and without email and address without admin rights
step 2 share a drive or folder to specific user account (if Everyone is listed, remove it)
step 3 set security > add Authenticated Users (if more than 1 account) or add specific users
step 3a remove Everyone from list
step 3b uncheck full control and write for all items listed except SYSTEM and Admin account.
step 4 right click Start > Computer Management > System Tools > Shared Folders > Shares ... to verify settings and change anything else. You can also see the number of connections to each share here.
