Windows 10: Administrator profile on laptop

We are a small company with approximately 25 employees or temporary contractors and laptops. I administer and distribute the laptops. I have been creating an offline login on the laptops for my use as an administrator. For the admin login, I install all the software that we use including Office 365. Then I create a work profile for the user to which I will assign the laptop. The only time I use the admin login I created is if the employee or more likely the contractor departs the company. The laptop will be returned to me and after backing up the files I will delete the user's profile. When next needed I will create a new profile for a new user.


This process makes it so that I don't need to reinstall a bunch of software when I re-issue a laptop. But is there a better way to go about administering the company laptops?


With one recent install, I received the warning that my personal User ID had activated Office 365 on my limit of 10 machines. It wasn't really a problem as I could just use Office Online to open my setup notes in Word. I really don't need an active activation of Office on the laptops. This prompts me to wonder if there is a better way to set up the company laptops and how can I inactivate Office on the existing laptop profiles. I only use Office on one machine.

Settings can't be opened using the built-in administrator account

Unfortunately I have the same issue as Dabz from upgrading win7 to win10.
I've tried opening settings using all the suggested methods and it will not load using my account with Administrator access nor the built-in Administrator profile. I also tried other methods not listed such as using Run. Control panel is just a stepping stone to add users in Settings.
I'm also having explorer.exe issues, which I believe is preventing Settings from loading.
Using cmd (Admin) I successfully created a new user profile [and granted admin access also using cmd (Admin)], however win10 will not allow this account to log on. win10 does not list this new user within control panel but it does in the start menu. win10 will not allow to log in or switch to the new account via the start menu either.
I can access settings in Safe Mode but this will not allow me to create a new account.
Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.
