  1. Adobe apps not recognized as installed after Windows 10 upgrade

    Hi folks,

    Windows 10 Pro (x64-bit), Version 10.0.19042 Build 19042

First thank you in advance to anyone who can give me some insight on this. I recently upgraded to Window 10 from Windows 7 and the new OS is not recognizing that my Adobe apps are installed. They are installed on a separate hard drive from which I run most programs (I recognize that this is likely the source of the problem). The programs still run perfectly fine, and I can still do things like choose to use Photoshop to open an image file, and they're still listed in the Start menu. But, If I try to uninstall them from Control Panel, I get a message saying that they're not installed. When running Creative Cloud, it doesn't recognize them as being installed either, and to get the most up-to-date version I have to install another version of the program.

Ideally what I'd like to be able to do is uninstall all of the programs and just reinstall, but that's proving to be a challenge. I did get in touch with Abode customer support and they were unfortunately not able to solve the problem after trying the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool several times.

Is there anything I can do about this? I've tried searching for solutions but so far haven't come up with anything for this specific issue. Thanks again in advance!

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?

  4. Adobe apps not recognized as installed after Windows 10 upgrade

    Windows 10 installing progs

I decided to take the plunge and upgrade to windows 10 from 7. I used the Media Creation Tool from MS website. It took awhile, but I am finally running Windows 10 (12-14).

I opened the new App & Program feature to remove programs that I no longer needed. Scrolling down the list, I was horrified! Apps that I didn't install somehow magically installed themselves. Two programs stood out: Facebook and Candy Crush Soda Saga. Both programs have those tale-tale icons that they came from Windows Store (which I've never even opened). The install date for both of them were on 12-26.

Is this a common thing for Windows 10? Or is it because I did an upgrade and not a clean install?
