Discus and support Adobe Flash in Browsers and Email to solve the problem; I keep getting a notice from Adobe Flash stating that I need to install a critical update in W10 Preview 9879. But it cannot be installed, see... Discussion in 'Browsers and Email' started by dencal, Dec 25, 2014.

    Adobe Flash


    I keep getting a notice from Adobe Flash stating that I need to install a critical update in W10 Preview 9879.
    But it cannot be installed, see attachment.
    Has anyone else had this problem ? and should one need to download Flash in W10.

    adobe flash player for lumia 900

    There is no version of Adobe flash player that runs on windows phones. Adobe has discontinued development of its mobile flash player so there will never be a version of Adobe flash player for windows phone.

    Edwin. Have done as you suggested and wait to see if it reoccurs.

    Prior to doing the above visited the Microsoft website to download the update and received the following att stating not applicable.

    You should only update W10 through Live Update and it is set to auto install the updates so you should be up to date.
    To check what version of Flash go to this site and it will tell you what you have and list the current versions.

    I honestly don't think you need flash at all any more. I don't anyway - it depends on the site you visit perhaps.

    Certainly don't download from some odd site though if a pop-up appears and suggests it. Same as any other junk.

    Anything that says "Please press install on my exe" is playing you.

    Not too impressed that Defender allowed this PUP to install on my computer, so have ditched and installed Free AVG and Mbam. Better these in my experience tried and trusted stalwarts.
    Yes it is so easy to click on these sometimes disguised links, surely Microsoft and Adobe should recognise that these infiltrators are using their trademarks for their financial gain, they should pursue them through the courts for besmirching their good name and seek damages.
