Windows 10: Advance ip scanner finds fake pc/ip in my LAN that create conflicts

In my network some PCs have been physically relocated after formatting, assigning new name and new ip fixed ip usage on each client - no DHCP. The IPs that were them in the previous "life" were assigned to other new machines. Now, however, these PCs ACER continue to provide making a scan of the network a fake "presence" with their old ip and consequently create a conflict to new PCs that have inherited from them the ip. In the image you can see clearly in blue the pc old with their new ip and the same fake, in orange with the old ip. I tried clearing the cache, reinstalling the net

2 IP address conflict

Hi Jessirel,

IP address conflict usually occurs after defining a static IP address. To resolve, try following these steps:

Run the Network troubleshooter

1. In the search box on the taskbar, type Network troubleshooter, and then select
   Identify and repair network problems from the list of results.
2. Follow the steps in the troubleshooter and see if that fixes the problem.

If that doesn’t fix your connection problem, try these things:

• Reset the TCP/IP stack
• Release the IP address
• Renew the IP address
• Flush and reset the DNS client resolver cache

Run these networking commands in Command Prompt:

1. In the search box on the taskbar, type Command prompt, press and hold (or right-click)
   Command prompt, and then select Run as administrator >
   Yes.
2. At the command prompt, run the following commands in the listed order, and then check to see if that fixes your connection problem:
   • Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
   • Type netsh int ip reset and press Enter.
   • Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
   • Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
   • Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.

Is this solved yet? If DHCP is dishing out the same IP address to 2 machines, just black list the IP.

 

Finding IP address

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to find printer’s IP address:

1. Type Devices and Printers in the Windows search bar.
   
2. Select on the printer and click on
   Manage.
   
3. Click on the Ports tab.
   You will be able to find printer’s IP address under the ‘Ports’ tab.
   

Few printers also have a “Test print” option on the printer. When you print a test page from network printer, the page shows the IP address along with other details.

Note: If it is set on DHCP mode the IP address will constantly change.
The IP address is assigned automatically by your router using a protocol called DHCP.
