Windows 10: Advanced Micro Devices - System - 4/17/2018 & 2018-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10...

During the installation of these 2 updates, for an unknown reason, my machine stops the update process at 30% and fails. The result of the failure is that the computer gives me the dreaded BSOD(0x0000021). After trying everything for startup repair, using the CMD to /fixboot and checking the drive for faults I gave up and restored the system using a manual system restore (thankfully I made a system restore point).


This has happened 3 times now and it happens every time I shutdown for automatic updates. Any suggestions?

2018-02 Cumulative Updates not installing

Windows keeps trying to download and install 2018-02 Cumulative Update and 2018-01 Cumulative Update.

It downloads the update and then fails when trying to install. Then it downloads it again over and over.

On the update history page it shows two updates failing to install.

2018-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64 base systems (KB4074588) (30)

Last failed install attempt 2/19/2018 - 0x8024200d

2018-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64 base systems (KB4056892) (268)

Last failed install attempt 2/14/2018 - 80240034

My current Windows version is 16299.64

Any suggestions on getting it to install or at least to stop downloading the updates all the time. With Windows always downloading the same update over and over it seems to take priority on my internet connection and slows my browser and everything else
down.

 

2018-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4338819) - Error 0x80070020

I have same error 2018-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4338819) - Error 0x80070020 and using the manual download from the catalog link also did not work. I am not comfortable going through the steps to block updates,
thinking that is not a good idea. Would much rather Microsoft work the bugs out of this update and then try again.

 

2018-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4338819) - Error 0x80070020

Apparently not with this one either, but it did state "2018-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4338819)

Successfully installed on 7/10/2018"
