Windows 10: "Advanced touchpad gestures" settings bug? error?

I'm very meticulous in personalizing my Windows PCs/Laptops. I recently acquired this new Acer Swift 3 SF314-41-R1HQ and I'm loving it. I have already set everything to my liking however this one setting really bugs me. I forgot how exactly I stumbled upon this setting but ever since I did, it's driving me nuts. All of my touchpad functionalities are still there (this laptop has a Windows Precision trackpad). Clicking the setting or hitting enter just opens up the Settings home page. When searching for this setting INSIDE the Windows search home page, it won't do anything and will still remain on the settings home page.

I asked two of my friends who have Windows 10 Home (or any version of Windows 10) on their laptops and none of them had this setting. Resetting the laptop to factory default, this setting is still present.

Is there a way to clear or remove or even just hide this setting from Windows Start Search? I'm willing to fiddle with registry or download anything just to get this fixed. I really have no clue as to what this setting is for or how it affects the system.

System:

Acer Swift 3 SF314-41-R1HQ

Ryzen 5 3500u, 4GB RAM, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD, Windows 10 Home

Things I tried to get rid of this setting:

- Reset laptop

- search for subreddits and guides but to no success

- reset my laptop AGAIN

- signed in with another user

How to disable gestures on my Ideapad L340 touchpad

I have a new Ideapad L340. I want to disable gestures on the touchpad (especially tap to click). I followed the instructions at the Lenovo support site (URL listed at the bottom of this post). The instructions get you to Mouse Properties.
Then the instructions say "click Settings or Advanced Settings."
Unfortunately, on the Lenovo Ideapad L340 there is no Settings or Advanced Settings to click on in the Mouse Settings Dialog box.
I have seen lots of suggestions that involve clicking on the tab to the right of the Hardware tab on the Mouse Properties dialog box, but there is no tap to the right of the Hardware tab.
I am open to registry editing also.


Is there anything I can do?

The touchpad gesture settings depends on the model of the laptop that you are using.



For us to investigate more on this, please share the details requested below:

• Were you able to find the gesture settings earlier?
  
• What is the make and model of the laptop that you are using?
  
• What is the version of Windows 10 that you are using currently? To check type
  winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
  Enter.
  

However, as you have already tried updating the Touchpad drivers, I would suggest you to check if there any pending Windows updates on the computer. You can navigate to
Start >> Settings >> Update & Security >> Windows Update >> Check for updates.

touchpad gestures two finger scroll not working Asus 501

Hi there,

1. Go to N501VW | ASUS Global Downloads
2. Download the latest ATK - ATKPackage driver
3. Download the latest TouchPad - ASUS Smart Gesture (Touchpad Driver)
4. Uninstall both the Touchpad driver and the Asus ATK package driver.
5. Reboot
6. First install ATKPackage driver (IMPORTANT to do this FIRST)
7. Reboot
8. Then install the TouchPad driver (may need to reboot)
9. Test if all is working as it should

I had this same issue with my Asus UX305 when I upgraded to Windows version 1803 and doing the above steps solved the issue for me.
