Windows 10: Advice on BIOS settings for Windows 11; need to boot from SSD

Hiya!The drives on my machine an older Alienware are fairly typical:C internal SSD, the only bootable oneD internal HDE CDR for legacy dataL-to-T partitions on a pair of external drives, nothing bootableFor some reason my machine started giving me these boot errors after upgrading my machine to Win11:Checking Media Presences......Media Present......Start PXE IPv4 on MAC:... ...Press ESC to abort PXE bootAfter pressing ESC it repeats, but for IPv6 escape again.I've seen a few directives online to fix this in BIOS but frankly I'm not sure what settings I should use in my case. My pc will only turn onto the bios settings

If your PC is only turning on to the BIOS settings and you are unable to boot into Windows, it may be due to a hardware issue or a problem with the operating system. Here are some steps you can take to try and fix the issue:

Windows 10 SSD Boot and Sleep faliure

Windows cannot stop the BIOS recognising the SSD. If at any time you can go into the BIOS and the SSD is not listed then you have an (intermittent) hardware fault. It does not matter what the precursor steps are if the hardware was OK it must be listed

Step 6 is categorical, you have a hardware fault. BIOS device recognition is always before drivers load so they cannot affect the process

 

Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's bios menu.

• Which version of Windows did you install on the SSD?
• What other troubleshooting steps have you attempted?
