    Advice on moving my music to windows 10


    Hello, I am looking for advice on moving my music to Windows 10. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I am in the process of transferring my files from my old MacBook Pro to my new Surface laptop, and have just my itunes library left to sort out.

    What software on Windows 10 should I be using? Groove Music? Windows Media Player? Something else?

    I have an Android phone (Samsung A5) and would ideally be looking for something that I could sync easily with my phone.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Newbie needs advice moving Win8.1 ==> Win10


    In your shoes I would
    1. Take a backup of the OS drive with Macrium Reflect, as suggested
    2. Download the ISO and do an Upgrade install (step 7 in this tutorial)
    Macrium gives you a way back if the upgrade doesn't work, and I also think that doing an Upgrade install is probably likely to be your quickest route to being activated on Windows 10 by the deadline.

    Once activated, you can consider doing a clean install later but without the time pressure.
