Windows 10: Advice transferring old Laptop Data to new Laptop.

Hello,I have just got a new Laptop with Windows 11, and I want to connect it to my old Laptop that has Windows 10, and basically drag and drop the C+D Drives from the old into the C Drive of the new.Will that mess anything up because they are different versions of Windows?Sorry if this is an obviously dumb question. I have zero tech savvy.

Ok, so i have an old laptop that's hhd was infected with a virus that screwed windows up. I have some data on the thing that i need to pull off and put onto my new laptops hhd. So what is the safest and easiest way to get the data from old laptop to new laptop?

For your data files you can just use copy and paste from the source to a external drive then copy and paste to the new laptop. If you have enough drive space on a external drive you could make images of both of your laptops. Then do a restore of your old laptop over the new laptop with the free version Macrium Reflect. A transfer of Windows 10 from a old device to a new device has a large success rate. Both versions has to be the same. For example both the Home version or both the Pro version. If for some reason it doesn't work you can restore the original image back to the laptop.
