    I looked at some messages regarding the situation that happens for me.



    The system looks like it is updating, except it turns around and says it is 'undoing the update.'

    I will follow the instructions:

    1a. The computer was purchased in around 2009.
    1b. HP
    1c. Whatever was on it initially was formatted by Freebsd last year. After Freebsd went nowhere, I installed Fedora 28 to download Windows Insider build 18290.
    2. Norton Internet Security good until next February.
    3. No anti-malware that I know. I think Norton provides a Firewall.
    4. No McAfee was installed on purpose. It may have tried, but I delete it fast.
    5. Nothing came with the 18290 build. Norton was first installation after the build installation.
    6ab. I cannot get an Installed Updates. Settings always gives history.
    7. You have version 31,0,0,153 installed
    8. Firefox 66.0.2 is installed.
    9. I do not have a habit of using a registry cleaner.

    Windows Update reverts back to original Build (18290).

    Hello,

    I'm a Windows 10 Insider since March 2015 and had no problems till now. I'm trying to upgrade to Build 18298 from 18290 but during the final

    phase I get the error message: "Undoing changes made to your computer..." and WU reverts back to Build 18290. What to do?

    Hi,

    This was a known issue on 18290. Please update to 18305 to resolve this.
