After 20H2 default user login is broken - Microsoft account popup on every PC login -...

Since I installed the 20H2 update on my PC a login to the system after a boot or after locking the screen always takes around one minute.

I am using a Microsoft account to login.

    This is what happens:

    - On my login screen my name and photo are shown, below is a text "Login" I just translated that from German so it might actually have a different name

    - when I click on the text this is what happens:

    - both screens go black and the signal is temporary lost

    - then after many seconds in black the blurred background of the login screen shows up

    - after many seconds the "Microsoft account" popup just like with Office pops up

    - a couple of seconds later the keyboard slides in

    - then I have to enter my password the account is already set

    - after that the screen goes black again for many seconds

    - then a blue screen with a white text and a spinner appears asking me to wait

    - then after a total of 45 to 60 seconds I am finally logged in

This happens with any login and is extremely annoying as I have not found any way to fix it. Also, there seems to be nobody else on earth with this problem.

I just found out that what happens is this:

    - when this happens a new folder is created under c:\Users - they have accumulated thus far:

    defaultuser100000

    defaultuser100000.{PC Name}

    defaultuser100000.{PC Name}.000

    defaultuser100000.{PC Name}.001

    defaultuser100000.{PC Name}.002

    defaultuser100000.{PC Name}.003

    defaultuser100000.{PC Name}.004

    defaultuser100001

    defaultuser100001.{PC Name}

    defaultuser100001.{PC Name}.000

    defaultuser100001.{PC Name}.001

    defaultuser100001.{PC Name}.002

    defaultuser100001.{PC Name}.003

    defaultuser100001.{PC Name}.004

Which each login one is added. I am sure that this will continue as long as Microsoft does not fix something.

What I found out already is that these folders *should be* leftovers from an update. However, they are created on each login.

I have read that I can delete them but I fear that if I do this I might not be able to login again as Microsoft seems to think:

    1. I am the default Windows user and I have a Microsoft account

    2. I am not really logged in

Disabling or enabling the login credentials for Microsoft updates in the Windows settings changes absolutely nothing.

So I think this is a hiccup where something from the update is left over that needs to be fixed.

I think only Microsoft can help here.

    Thanks!

    :)
