  2. Windows 10 updates disable monitor

    Hi Linda#Jefferson,

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

According to your description, the monitor could not be turned on after Windows 10 update.

First, I recommend that you connect to another monitor to check if the hardware is causing the problem.

You mentioned that your monitor is currently stuck in power-saving mode, you can try the following steps to see if you can access the safe mode.

    1. Hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.
    2. Press the power button again to turn on your device.
    3. On the first sign that Windows has started (for example, some devices show the manufacturer’s logo when restarting) hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.
    4. Press the power button again to turn on your device.
    5. When Windows restarts, hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.
    6. Press the power button again to turn on your device.
    7. Allow your device to fully restart. You will enter winRE.
    8. On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
    9. After your device restarts, you'll see a list of options. Select option 5 from the list or press F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.
For your reference, please visit the link below:

Start your PC in safe mode in Windows (microsoft.com)

    • If you can successfully access the system according to the above steps.
    1. I recommend you first turn off the power-saving mode according to the following steps: Right mouse click on desktop > Personalization > Lock screen interface > Screen saver settings > Change power settings > Select the time to turn off the monitor > Set the time to turn off the monitor and the time for the computer to go into hibernation to Never > OK.
    2. You can also try uninstalling the Windows update according to the following steps: Click Windows icon > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View Update History > Uninstall Updates > Uninstall recent updates in the page
    3. Usually, the driver will also cause the monitor to not work properly, so we recommend that you download the corresponding driver from the official website of your monitor manufacturer.
    • If you can not access the system according to the above steps.

I suggest you try to Go back to the previous version in the safe mode according to the following steps: On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Go back to the previous version.
Please feel free to tell me progress.

    Best regards
