Windows 10: After 4 System Restores, my 128GB laptop space is almost gone

I have an ASUS X413JA laptop with a 128GB m.2 SSD. It started out with 117GB of space available for Windows not including recovery partitions. It initially had just over 75GB of remaining space after my installation of software on the drive. But after using System Restore only 4 times, my drive space is literally used up.I had 59GB after the first run, 35GB after the second, and less than 15GB after the third. System Restore didn't finish on the 4th activation because my drive space had come close to running out. I have less than 5GB. My files add up to only 38GB, but I've lost 75GB of

I clear the log from EventVwr.msc but it did not recover much hard drive space. So i try clearing the retore point. Now my free hard drive space is about 34.4GB as compared to 26.6GB after my system restore.
Anyway before i did a system restore. I did create a system restore point manually from system restore. Will the system restore point account for the lost free hard drive space?

If your system is running ok now, you could disable system restore then re enable it, thus removing all previous restore points and freeing up that lost space!

System Restore run out of disk space while restoring your files

Hello all,

let me dive straight in. Searched for possible solutions here and on some other sites, tried a few solutions but still getting an error.

It started with an Opera browser update going wrong on 16/10
(Can't open user profile directory, because you lack sufficient privileges'.),
tried to fix it and in the process messed up more stuff so thought will do a system restore. Never had an issue with system restores before. but it did not complete due to different errors.

Initial system restore threw this error:
"System Restore Failed with 0x8007045b Error Code"

Then followed some steps from here:

Fix System Restore Failed and Did Not Complete Successfully Error in Windows 10 - EaseUS
and
Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files (microsoft.com)

• set Volume shadow copy to: Startup Type: Automatic
  
• run cmd as admin:
  
• run: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth - no issues
  
• run: sfc /scannow
  

(First time resulting: 'found corrupt files and successfully repaired them', 2nd time run it with no issues)

• run: reagentc /boottore
  
• Restarted
  
• Went through: "Troubleshoot" >"Advanced Option" > "System Restore".
  

2h later system restore was completed, laptop restarted and after login to my admin account promptly got an error stating:

"System Restore failed to extract the file ...
from the restore point.
System Restore run out of disk space while restoring your files."

My C: drive is a 128GB SSD - effectively 104GB with 23GB free. Cannot believe this much free space isn't enough.

How can I get the laptop to restore?
As now it isn't just Opera acting up, also have a "The Recycle Bin on C:\ is corrupted..." error, Start menu isn't opening when clicking on it ...

What can I do next? Any help is appreciated.
