Windows 10: After 5/5 updates all laptop batteries are drained overnight

I'm finding the all three of my laptops' (two different brands) batteries are empty when I try and use them. They are all charged before nighttime, when I either sleep them or turn them of completely, then store them in their bags. When I turn them on in the morning, instead of the 90%+ battery charge I'm expecting, they're depleted, sometimes below safe levels for the battery. This is even on one laptop that was completely turned off.

This seems to be a new thing after this past tuesday's batch of updates, when I updated all three machines (plus some VMs).

From the windows log on *this* machine, it looks like it woke up at 11pm and was running for 48min, but I'm not sure what triggered that.

Tablet battery drain


I have Dell tablet, and with Windows 8 the battery was fine, after upgrading and doing a clean install of Windows 10,the battery drain has been terrible.

I left my tablet docked to its keyboard (which also supplies extra battery to my tablet) overnight with WiFi off and sleeping. I left it at %65 battery woke up and now it it was at %5.

Anyone know what the problem is? I tried doing in airplane mode and still.

 

laptop battery wont charge after latest update

1. Shutdown your laptop.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Connect the AC power adapter to your laptop.

4. Power on the laptop

5. Open the Device Manager by typing Devmgmt.msc into Start Menu or from Control Panel.

6. Under the Batteries category, right-click all of the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listings, and select Uninstall (it’s okay if you only have 1).

7. Shutdown the laptop.

8. Insert the battery.

9. Power on the laptop.

If above suggestions wont resolve the battery charge issue then follow below steps.




Step 2

1. Shutdown the laptop.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Start the laptop with only AC adapter connected to laptop.

4. When you login to Windows OS connect the battery while Windows OS working.

 

Battery drain in sleep and hibernation

Since a clean installation of Win 10 my laptop battery has begun to completely drain overnight when in sleep or hibernate modes. It is ok when powered off so I suspect the battery is ok.

Any suggestions?
