Windows 10: After a BIOS update my computer has locked me out of my windows account - now even when...

So I recently updated my BIOS - then when I turn my computer back on I can't sign into my account due to my PIN needing to be reset, however when I click to reset and windows login comes up it fails to connect and prompts me to check my internet or refresh.I have tried everything and finally managing to get a local admin account I have been able to transfer files over and using a windows 11 boot disk just to reinstall windows files I was able to sign into my Microsoft account.However now apps like Xbox cannot sign into my Microsoft account with a similar issue and I receive the error code 0x

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown

Steve, All you need is a Windows 10 installation USB in order to use the procedure given in post #2. If you do not have one of them then you will need to take your computer to somebody who does. The procedure does not entail any use of the MSAccount reset / old mobile number / email reset. Denis
