Windows 10: after a forced windows update I've lost my administrator privileges

everything is in the title, windows forced an update in the middle of something and now i am no longer a administrator. Meaning i cant do anything anymore, I've tried to fix this myself and looking it up on google but i cant access anything they say that i need like netplwiz or even the other accounts setting in settings. the update has fully removed me as admin and i need it back to be able to apparently install/uninstall apps stop any apps from the task manager, ect. please can someone help.

I returned from a business trip and I have lost all administrative privileges to my windows 10 p

Not sure if it was hacked or the kids did it but all administrative privileges have been lost none the less.

Step one, I reviewed all the information online on windows 8 and windows 10 similar situations.

I tried them all, I have zero privileges to do any of them. I can not create a new account to add admin privileges to.

I can not enable a hidden admin account to work with. I can not use command prompt to do anything related to admin privileges.

I'm basically locked out of all programs dealing with administrative privileges. A app recently failed, and I had to download it again unfortunately, can download it without administrative privileges.

Step two, accept that I can not do this alone and reach out to the community for help.

Fix Lost Administrator rights in Windows 11 and Windows 10 - Your Windows Guide

1. Perform a hard shutdown two times during the Windows boot screen. On the third time, Windows should boot to the recovery environment. You can also press and hold Shift+click Restart on the lock screen to open Windows Recovery.
   
2. Click Troubleshoot on the screen. Then choose Advanced options>Start-up Settings.
   
3. Select Restart.
   
4. Press 4 to launch the computer in Safe mode.
   

Afterwards, Windows should log you into your standard account. From there, type netplwiz in the Run dialog box. You should now see a prompt asking for the superuser admin account password. The password is usually blank, and clicking yes without entering anything should do the trick. If that does not help, try entering the password of your user account that has lost administrative rights.

Now, the next step is to regain lost administrator rights. For that, double click the username to open its properties.

Next, click the group membership tab.

From Standard user, change the membership to Administrator and click OK.





The user account would now have administrator rights restored.
