    Headphones no longer play Audio

Suddenly today, without a single hardware/software change, when I opened my laptop and plugged in my headphones to start work, the audio no longer played through them. There was no abrupt damage to the 3.5mm plug on my laptop nor on the headphones; they
worked fine earlier in the day and also work fine on my phone. I attempted to troubleshoot it through windows but it wouldnt even register that the headphones were plugged in. After going through numerous troubleshooting steps (restart computer, use different
headphones, update/uninstall audio drivers, update bios, update windows, go through manufacturer update drivers process, preboot hardware diagnostics program), I came up with nothing. What I was finally able to do was to go to manage sound devices and whenever
I plug in my headphones (or other hardwired headphones), it comes up as an input Jack Mic (Realtek (R) Audio) instead of output headphones. I have attempted to replug them in, restart computer, go to device manager and uninstall the Jack Mic driver along
with all other wired headphone drivers but whenever I plug in the headphones, they just immediately install the Jack Mic input. I have tried to go through the manufacturer support but thought i through this out here too because it seems to be a problem with
Windows reading the input through the 3.5mm plug. Any information would be welcomed.

    PS.

When I have plugged in the headphones and it installs them as the Jack Mic input, the events information has the following:

Plugging in headphones blue screens the computer.

My computer blue screens when I plug in my headphones. This usually happens when there is a video or audio file playing.

    It is a Windows 10 HP 15.

Is there a fix for this? Do I need a new computer? Why is it that a computer from 2015 is so behind it's time that it just f***ks off when I want to plug in my headphones?

Windows: Wireless/bluetooth headphones disconnect and then reconnect without sound if pc stops playing sound

Windows version: 10 pro, version 10.0.17134 Build 17134 (according to system information)

headphone brand: 3sixT wireless bluetooth headphones
    laptop: surface laptop

    Issue:

Headphones connect to laptop, listed in bluetooth settings as connected for voice, music

If I don't start playing any sounds (music, youtube etc) in the next ~30 seconds after connecting, the headphones alert me that they have disconnected and reconnected, but now they list only voice connected. Same thing happens if I was listening to something and stop/pause it for too long.

They are no longer available in the audio output changer in task bar when this happens and any audio played goes through laptop main speakers.

The device manufacturer (3sixT) does not provide any drivers and they seem to use the standard bluetooth headphone drivers available on whatever system they are connected to.

These headphones connect without issues to my phone (android); issue only seems to be with my laptop.

Unable to find many discussions of similar issues, and those that I could used outdated advice / settings that no longer exist (one suggested something in power settings for the device under the device manager page, but that setting/tab doesn't appear for my device)

tried uninstalling/reinstalling drivers, rolling back drivers, making sure bluetooth service start automatically... Nothing seems to work

Any ideas how I can resolve this, so that my headphones can sit quetly for any amount of time without disconnecting / reconnecting without dropping the 'connected music' setting?
