Windows 10: After C: Windows Reset, Some folders in Bitlocker-Encrypted D: are still locked

After much pain trying to fix Windows Update using several tutorials, I reset Windows on C: partition. That worked nicely, and Update is working perfectly, as is everything else on C:My problem is with partition D: which is encrypted with bitlocker. After entering the encryption key I can view the drive and all folders in D: however all the file icons have the lock symbol on them. Online tutorials suggest changing ownership on the drive via file explorer. I went through the steps to change ownership of D: to administrator. That was successful.At that point I could open the files in six out of

I find a screen which says "(C) Bitlocker encrypting." On accessing Bitlocker through Control Panel

To bring you up to speed.....

Control Panel - Systems and security - manage bitlocker.....

The screen now shows:- C Bitlocker off: D Bitlocker on (locked)

That's ok for now as I don't need access to the D Drive.

I've got - Printed, the Identifier and Recovery Key for my D Drive and I also input a password. That should all work when I need to test it.

I've also got - Printed, the Identifier and Recovery Key for my C Drive but I was not asked to input a password so I stopped the encryption process.

Questions - does the Password for the D drive also work on the C drive? If not, how do I input a password before encrypting?

All date is backed up on external (encrypted) hard drive so I'll lose nothing whatever I need to do, even if it is a full factory reset.

How to delete D drive encrypted by Bitlocker without password or recovery key?

There's a Dell PC running Windows 10 in my office that a previous user had that they created an encrypted D drive with Bitlocker. The guy has left and nobody has proper contact with them.

I don't care about the data on the D drive I just want to delete the drive off the PC. Steps I have already taken are:

• Reinstall Windows
  
• Reset the PC with the options "Remove everything" and "Only drives where windows is installed"
  

When I chose the option "All drives" I get an error saying "There was a problem resetting your PC".

Can anyone provide instructions on how to delete the D drive encrypted with Bitlocker?

 

BitLocker wont encrypt my D drive

I just enabled BitLocker on my computer and i noticed it won't even see my D drive and only my C and G. The C drive is an drive i dont store anything on and the D drive is where everything on my computer is, G is the flashdrive used to unlock my computer.

I can't find anything about how to encrypt my D drive with bitlocker or why bitlocker wont see it at all. I realy want to get this encryption working before i move out in a few days incase my computer get stolen.
