After changing video card, system takes 3 or 4 minutes to load

The video card on my Dell XPS8700 failed. I asked the tech to find a better card that would work on this computer and would allow me to access the gpu on Photoshop. He installed a NVidia GT1030.When I got home the system loaded as usual, but the first time I had to recover from a time out, the system took over 3 minutes to load and continues to do so. I checked the driver for the NVidia card and it seems to be ok, at least when scanned with Windows 10 update driver. I also did some troubleshooting from others who have had slow start ups. 3. Windows keeps freezing after 3-4 minutes

    Hello,

since last week (maybe after the last update) I have the following problem: when starting Windows it works perfectly fine for around 3-4 minutes - it's not slower or anything, every action I wanna do works. Then, without any particular impulse, the system
stops and I can't do anything anymore. If I'm patient, I can wait for around five minutes for every single action (i.e. for example one click) and it works - but obviously that's not very feasible. But anyway, the system still seems to react.

    Things I've tried so far:

    • testing the Ram with Memtest 86 (all fine)
    • refreshing the PC (stopped at around 50%, saying that refreshing didn't work)
    • deleting some bigger files to create space on the hard disk (no change)
    • another interesting fact: I have Ubuntu installed on another hard disk, which uses the Windows hard disk for file storage (and obviously all the other hardware like graphic card, ram, processor) and still works perfectly. This makes me think that it's not
      a hardware issue, right?
Some info on my system - I'm using:

    • a Dell XPS, 64bit, Win 8.1 and Ubuntu 16.04
    • Intel® Core™ i5-4210Y CPU @ 1.50GHz × 4
    • 3,8Gig Ram
I really have no idea, what the problem could be. Can anyone help?

    Cheers,

    Sebastian

  4. After changing video card, system takes 3 or 4 minutes to load

    Videos are green?

I found this official describtion from Microsoft Support about this problem.

A short summary about the possible solutions:

    • Make sure that you are using the latest drivers for the video card that are provided directly from the video card manufacturer or from the system manufacturer. If you update the drivers, make sure that the Color Quality setting in the Display Properties dialog box was not reset.
    • Verify that you have any other software updates for the video card. Also, verify that you have the latest updates for Microsoft DirectX. For other software updates for the video card, and also for DirectX updates, visit the following Microsoft Web site.
    • Turn down video acceleration. To do this in Microsoft Windows Media Player 9 Series or in later versions of Microsoft Windows Media Player, follow these steps:

    • Change the advanced video acceleration settings. To do this in Windows Media Player 9 Series or in later versions of Windows Media Player, follow these steps:
