I've just created a Microsoft Backup recovery drive on a 14 TB external HDD. In addition to the 32 GB Active Primary Partition, there is a 2016 GB Unallocated Partition and a !0991 GB Unallocated on the recovery drive. Can I store other data to be backed up in the 10,991 GB Unallocated partition?

Changing installation of windows from a HDD Drive (current unit C) to a SSD Drive (current unit E)

    Hi,

I recently bought a Lenovo P360 desktop computer. The computer comes with three drives:

    - HDD 4 Tb (unit C)

    - HDD 2 Tb (unit D)

    - SSD 1 Tb (unit E)

For some reason, in Lenovo they decided to install Windows 11 in the HDD drive of 4 Tb, and make such drive the unit C of my computer.

In order to improve the performance of the computer, I would like to reinstall Windows 11 in the SSD drive , while deleting the installation from the HDD 4 Tb drive.

Could you let me know which steps I need to follow in order to have Windows installed in the SSD?

(For info, I have already created a USB recovery from the Lenovo webpage with Windows 11)

    Many thanks in advance,

    Miquel

  3. Help, cant create windows image

    Hello there, @fullinfusion!

It seems like some sort of an OS confusion has happened with your secondary WD Black and I'm sorry to hear about that. *Frown After creating a Microsoft Backup recovery drive on a 14 TB HDD using Windows 11, can I... :(
Maybe re-formatting it would help indeed as the community already mentioned. I'd suggest to take a look at this step-by-step how to partition and format an HDD: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=PYCoid
Keep in mind that this will wipe clean the drive, so you should backup all important data from the drive somewhere else.
I noticed from the screenshots that your HDD appears as Disk 0, this means that it's plugged in the primary SATA port where the SSD (as an OS drive) should be. Actually it is possible that because of this Windows cannot create the image there. Swap the ports of the SSD and the HDD, this might help as well.

Keep me posted. Hope this helped! *Smile After creating a Microsoft Backup recovery drive on a 14 TB HDD using Windows 11, can I... :)

Lost all my external HDD data, when I selected single partition drive from External HDD to create a Recovery Drive

    Hi All

I recently bought Laptop with having Windows 10 Home edition. I did setup everything and I thought of creating recovery drive using my External HDD which is 1 TB drive dividing into 5 partitions. In that External Drive, I formatted one of the partition to create a recovery drive.

When I ran Create Recovery Drive from Control Panel. It should be available Drives list, which is from my external HDD having 5 different letters allocation. I selected the single partition drive in which I deleted the data to create a recovery drive.

After that when the recovery drive got created, my addition partitions in External HDD got deleted completed and Lost all my years of Data, now I am not sure how I can I recover it back After creating a Microsoft Backup recovery drive on a 14 TB HDD using Windows 11, can I... :(. Please someone from tech team, help me out, so much of important Data I had, I am not sure why it has to delete all my other partition data when I selected a specific partition in the external HDD.
